Huge industrial park on the way in Mesquite

June 24, 2020

Developer Wynne/Jackson plans a $200 million warehouse complex.

A huge new business park planned east of Dallas will bring millions of square feet of industrial space.

The more than $200 million project is in Kaufman County along Interstate 20.

The city of Mesquite has reached an agreement with the Dallas-based developer Wynne/Jackson to build the 280-acre industrial park.

Construction on the 3 million-square-foot development is set to start in early 2021.

“The size of the property allows us to develop large buildings to meet the demands of the market,” Wynne/Jackson chairman Clyde Jackson said in a statement. “The demographics of Mesquite and Kaufman County are desirable to large corporations.”

With demand for industrial space growing in North Texas, warehouse developers and tenants have been scouting the area east of Dallas for locations.

Buildings in the new Mesquite project will range from 120,000 square feet to more than 1 million square feet.  It’s in a developing area called Trinity Pointe Mesquite.  “Our vision for this area includes housing, retail and commercial development,” Mesquite Mayor Bruce Archer said. “Wynne/Jackson’s development team has met our highest expectations for a quality development that will provide jobs for our residents.”

Wynne/Jackson has been in business more than 40 years and has done developments from office towers to residential communities.

Matthew Dornak and Drew Feagin of Stream Realty Partners will market the new business park.
